BPO’s opening concert for 2025 takes flight with two incredible ballet suites – the magnificent Firebird by Stravinsky and evocative Australian work Wild Swans.

Opening with the BPO-commissioned world premiere of Time is Escaping Her from rising Australian star Eleanor Brimblecombe, this vibrant work sets the stage for soloist Alex Raineri on the harpsichord. Poulenc’s Concert champetre is witty and whimsical, delightful in its bravura.

Nina Korbe opens a stunning second half as soloist for the Kats-Chernin, with the Wild Swans vignettes drawing the listener into a playful, magical world. Firebird continues that magic with scenes taken from Stravinsky’s ballet, from lush enchanted gardens to fiery battles.
